Be The Match On Campus isn’t just a student-run organization, it’s a social movement literally saving lives. Hundreds of students from across the country have already teamed up to improve the lives of patients. We now need people like you to spread the mission at your campus.
Don’t Take Life for Granted
In February of 2019, Kathleen was unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia after visiting the hospital with severe bruising.
Before her fourth and final round of chemo, her doctors discovered that the cancer had spread and that she would need a bone marrow transplant. Luckily, her brother was a match and saved her life.
After treatment, Kathleen joined the University of Maryland’s Be The Match On Campus chapter because she wanted to help others like her to find their cure. With her leadership last year, the UMD chapter was one of the most successful in the program.
Be The Match works to find EVERY patient a match and that is why I am so proud to be a part of the organization

Chapter Program
Signing up with a group is easy!
Join the ranks of over 100 chapters nationwide. We provide everything you need to host events, recruit donors, and fundraise on your campus. Grab a few friends or join a chapter that already exists at your school.
Ambassador Program
No group? No problem! This program is made for students that want to get active on their own.
As an Ambassador, you’ll recruit others to join our registry. In the process, you’ll learn professional development skills and get access to an extensive professional network of Be The Match employees, partners, and fellow Ambassadors. You can earn recognition and prizes for your volunteer hours. You’ll also receive:
- Event kits with swabs and physical resources
- Photos, videos, and graphics for social media
- A fundraising page and recruitment code
- Fundraising and recruitment support
- A personal Be The Match Representative
